The results are in! The winner of this year’s Audience Choice vote is… drumroll… The French Connection (1971), William Friedkin’s classic New York cop thriller starring Gene Hackman (The Conversation, The Royal Tenenbaums) and Roy Scheider (Jaws, All That Jazz).


From the man who brought us The Exorcist (1973) and more recently Killer Joe (2011), The French Connection follows Jimmy ‘Popeye’ Doyle and Buddy ‘Cloudy’ Russo, a pair of hard-nosed Brooklyn detectives who stumble upon a transatlantic drug operation and set about bringing the elusive Frog One (Fernando Rey) to justice.

Another Frankenstein Film?

FrankensteinCandyman director Bernard Rose is making a modern day retelling of the classic story Frankenstein set to star Carrie-Anne Moss ,Danny Huston and Xavier Samuel.

“Frankenstein is set in present-day Los Angeles and told from the perspective of Adam/The Monster (Samuel), who is created by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists only to be met with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him.” – Deadline Hollywood

Good Morning!

I’ve only been awake for a little bit and I’ve already seen/read four reports on Katy Perry’s new pink hair color.  You know it’s a slow news day when…  However, I have to agree about her uncanny resemblance to Animal from the Muppets.  Fine, make this the fifth report.  Let’s move on.

Most excellent!  Actor and director Alex Winters, (you know, Bill from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure) told Yahoo Movies that the third installment of the Bill & Ted franchise is coming, Keanu is on board and now it’s just a matter of time.  He said the guys “will be 40-something and it’s all about Bill and Ted grown up, or not grown up.  It’s really sweet and really f*cking funny.”  I can’t wait, but it looks like we’re gonna have to.  Winters added, “It just takes a long time to put a movie together.  Now…
