Fast and Furious 7: Launch Trailer Released

To get fans ready for the upcoming trailer release for Fast & Furious 7, Universal has released The Road To Furious 7, which they have labeled as a launch trailer. Why have a launch trailer? Why not release the trailer already? What is a launch trailer anyways? It’s basically a trailer of footage from the previous Fast & Furious movies with a tease for Furious 7.

Along the launch trailer, Universal posted on the official Fast & Furious Facebook page, “Let’s go for a little ride. Take a look back at the Fast & Furious saga. Follow the live Road to Furious 7: Trailer Launch Event this Saturday, November 1, starting at noon Pacific on the Fast & Furious Facebook page and on-air on E!. #Furious7″

A movie a week

Schools for Humans

We’ll be enacting a lot of oddball ideas at our school. One of the simpler ones — and yet one I’m most excited about! — is to watch a movie together each week.

What, you ask? With droves of subjects to be explored, with scads of skills to be mastered, why would we frivol away precious class time passively staring at a (gulp) screen? Can’t kids do that at home? Isn’t this too easy? Doesn’t this go against the whole idea of the school?!

Nope! Let’s explore this.

When I was in school, I often saw teachers use movies foolishly: as “treats” (they rarely were), as history lessons (they’re typically terrible history!), and as (it seemed) excuses for the teachers to take breaks.

We’ll use ’em much better.

I Did Not Appreciate the Avengers Movie, Until…

Anyone who has listened to our show enough knows that I am not a big fan of Marvel’s The Avengers movie.  I know, you think I am crazy.  I know that right now you are staring at the screen wondering what the hell is wrong with this guy.  Former owner of a comic book store, podcaster dedicated to the geek lifestyle which includes but is not limited to comic books, comic book movies and all the rest.  But, I just couldn’t get into the movie.  In fact, each of the 3 times I tried to watch this movie, I fell asleep, one of these times was actually in the theater!  I just found the whole thing long and drawn out.  A lot of superheroes talking, and talking and talking then BAM, here is the big action sequence, they destroy the entire city and everyone thinks they are great!  YAY! Snore……
