After months of mostly MEH movies, the holiday movie season kicks off this weekend with Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” and Disney Animation’s “Big Hero 6.” This should be a ab epic sci-fi showdown, as both movies seem poised to open big.
After a brief two-day run in 249 theaters, “Interstellar” explodes into 3,500 locations on Friday. “Interstellar” will also be playing in 370 IMAX theaters domestically, which is the biggest ever IMAX release.
The sci-fi adventure finds Matthew McConaughey leading a team of NASA explorers (including Anne Hathaway) across the universe in search of a new home for mankind. “Interstellar” also stars Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine, and a bunch of other big name people.
However, the movie’s main selling point has to be director Christopher Nolan. The man who saved Batman movies is a fanboy favorite, and always delivers excellent movies. Studios like him too as Nolan’s last three movies…
