Jacob Hunter

School project, we were supposed to practice backgrounds and creating depth, hence the painted page. Otherwise I realize I am not that great at perspective or coming up with building designs! Guess I’ll practice, perspective is simple enough as long as I don’t get too lazy, but I really should practice building design. Oh, and part of the assignment was to make/ re-design a character and give them a job (which is a normal job today) and make it in the future. I created a new character. The comic isn’t really done or anything, so I’ll explain the concept as well if anyone is interested.

This is the story of Jacob Hunter, a policewoman sometime in the future. The future didn’t turn out to be as different from the present as you may think, even though technology has gotten more advanced we are still far away from teleporting or other…

Friday Favourite: The Hobbit Fan Cut

jm.net

If you, like me, resented the bloated, heaving mass that was Peter Jackson’s ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy, then listen up. A fellow calling himself tolkieneditor has recut the movie down into a much more manageable 4 hour edit, which excludes irrelevant plot tangents, shortens sequences and generally makes it a more snappy, enjoyable ride. I watched part of it myself the other night, and the difference felt immediate. I’m very much looking forward to watching the rest, as the real winning factor for me was that tolkieneditor has edited out the ridiculous love triangle between Kili, Tauriel and Legolas. I disliked a lot of things about this series, but that was at the top of the list.

You can obtain it for yourself [here], but torrenting may be the only option, as the direct download appears to have disappeared.

The movies I’m anticipating in 2015

Cavalcade of Awesome

Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Superman v Batman
Furious 7
Jurassic World
James Bond: Spectre

Of course I’m anticipating these movies so I’m not going to elaborate any further than that. I’ll do everything I can to see those movies in the theater. Those are a given for me. So, with those out…

” Unbroken” Is the Most Truthful Movie of the Year

BluePrints Online

Unbroken photoBY MAGGIE MCGONAGLE

This was for sure an unforgettable movie. With many twists and turns my attention was never lacking. Zamperini was not only entertaining but had an extremely captivating story. The movie had a strong message: never give up. While faced with many different life threatening problems, Louis Zamperini never lost hope.

The movie is disturbing, but true. Zamperini was treated inhumanly along with hundreds of other American soldiers. Even when he was near death he never gave up fighting. Louis Zamperini is an example of a true American citizen. Although his life was often in jeopardy, he never gave the Japanese information that could help their country and hurt ours.

Though this movie isn’t quite in the center of a battlefield it is absolutely a war story. Louis was fighting his own war. He had to mentally prepare himself every day for the tasks that were ahead of him.
