The Hurt Locker

Your Own Silver

Good morning, everyone. Following yesterday’s post, I decided to revisit another film that I briefly saw once but, ultimately, forgot. All I really remembered from my first watch of The Hurt Locker was that everyone was just sweating and yelling the whole time. Other than that, it failed to stick in my noggin. Which is strange because I’m usually pretty good about remembering award winners as it swept most of the major categories at the 2010 Oscars. It won Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, made director Kathryn Bigelow the first woman to win the Best Director award (she also directed one of my all time favorites, Point Break, so that win shouldn’t really be a surprise at all), and won a few others so it cleaned up pretty nicely. A lot of critics were saying how intense it was and stuff like that but I found it to be…

Seul Sur mars

The Strong Female Lead in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015)

Ice the Burn

Rebecca Ferguson plays Ilsa in Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation from Paramount Pictures and Skydance Production Rebecca Ferguson plays Ilsa in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation from Paramount Pictures and Skydance Production

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation was released almost a month ago, but the film still manages to seep its way into conversations. The action, the plot, and the advancement of its returning characters made it much easier to engage with the movie, but the buzz that has followed its portrayal of Ilsa Faust, the lead female character, has a special place when talking about the film.

The sequel explores lead character Ethan Hunt’s journey to discover information about the Syndicate, a terrorist organization, and brings in his former teammates as his aides once IMF, the Impossible Missions Force, is disbanded. While in London, Hunt is captured by the Syndicate and awakens in an underground room to be tortured, but manages to escape with the assistance of Faust, a disavowed MI6 agent.

So, M. Night Shyamalan Still Wants to Make ‘The Last Airbender 2’

Jon Negroni

the last airbender 2

Before we go any further, let’s get my opinion straight. I’m speaking to M. Night Shyamalan directly when I say, STAY AWAY FROM AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER. FOREVER.

There, that’s all I wanted to say, aside from the rest of this.

Strangely, some people don’t blame the once promising director for the insulting mess that was 2010’s The Last Airbender, including Shyamalan himself. We’ll get to the lunacy of that, but first I should mention that this is still a minority opinion. A terrible opinion, but a minority opinion all the same.

Venture Capitol Post posted an article yesterday with an unforgivably misleading title that shocked and scared the eyes of hopefully only tens of readers:

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender 2’ Confirmed: Director M. Night Shyamalan Defends 1st Film from Longstanding Criticism.

Um…No, this movie is most certainly NOT confirmed. Obvious clickbait headline isn’t just clickbait. It’s actually beyond clickbait…
