Review: Ant-Man (2015)

When I first heard that they were making an Ant-Man movie, about a superhero could shrink and communicate telepathically with ants, I thought Marvel had really lost it. To be honest, when I first saw the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, I thought then that they had lost it, but the idea grew on me. And the same thing happened again. Marvel have a talent for taking obscure concepts, obscure ideas and shaping them into rather entertaining products. I’m not saying for a moment they are clever, or of a higher quality that makes them Oscar-worthy, but that’s not the point with these films. These are to entertain. And for that, I can’t fault Ant-Man, because it did entertain me. This was an entertaining film. Definitely not one of Marvel’s best, but it took an entirely ridiculous concept and worked with it.
