Time’s up for two-time winner “Gone Girl,” as World War II tank movie “Fury” will snatch the top spot away this weekend.

Playing at 3,173 theaters, “Fury” stars Brad Pitt as the leader of an American tank crew making their way through Germany as the second World War draws to a close. The film was written and directed by David Ayer, the man Warner Bros. has tapped too direct the live action Suicide Squad movie. “Fury” also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Jon Bernthal, and Michael Peña. But of course the big draw here is Brad Pitt .

The marketing campaign for “Fury” has focused on the action packed tank battles and the stakes Pitt and his crew face against 300 German soldiers. In the past few weeks, the marketing push has gone into overdrive with television ads during the baseball playoffs and NFL games.
