Spoilers ahead. Jeremy Renner confirmed who’s side he’ll fight on in Captain America: Civil War. When asked at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago why he sided with Captain America, Renner replied, “I don’t know. They wrote me in that side. It made sense to me.”
This news shouldn’t be surprising, of course. Hawkeye didn’t spend several years keeping his family off the record only to join the side that would expose them to danger. Maybe Tony Stark likes to give out his home address on live TV, but Barton doesn’t. Also, Hawkeye was already rumored to be on Cap’s side, and Renner’s been spotted in recent paparazzi photos not-so-subtly wearing a “Team Captain America” baseball cap.
So what’s Hawkeye’s role in Cap’s plans anyway?
Right. Great. Useful. Thanks, dude.
